3. Dimension Tools Flyout

Used for technical drawings, blueprints, and precise measurement annotation.

What It Does

Parallel Dimension Tool

Measures the distance between two nodes and places a dimension line at any angle. Can be oriented vertically or horizontally.

Horizontal or Vertical Dimension Tool

Places dimension lines strictly horizontal or vertical relative to the page.

Angular Dimension Tool

Measures the angle between two lines or segments; drag to define the angle intersection and place the label.

Segment Dimension Tool

Measures the linear distance between the end nodes of a single segment, or the total distance across multiple selected segments. Supports automatic successive dimensioning for continuous measurements.

3-Point Callout Tool

Draws a two-segment callout line for labeling objects (shared with the callout tools).

Dynamic vs. Static Dimensioning

Dynamic text updates automatically when the measured object is resized; static text remains fixed.

Extension Line Controls

Customize the gap between the object and extension line, plus the extension overhang beyond the arrows.

Units & Text Customization

Choose fractional, decimal, or standard units; set precision, font, prefixes, suffixes, and text position.



4. Connector & Anchor Editing Tools

Used for flowcharts, diagrams, and schematics where lines must stay attached to objects.

Draws a direct straight line between two objects; remains attached when objects are moved.

Right-Angle Connector Tool

Draws a connector with vertical and horizontal segments meeting at sharp 90° corners.

Right-Angle Round Connector Tool

Draws a right-angle connector with rounded corners instead of sharp corners.

Edit Anchor Tool

Adds, moves, deletes, and adjusts anchor points on objects to control where connector lines attach. Set direction (0°, 90°, 180°, 270°), toggle Auto Anchor, and position anchors relative to the object or page.

Shape Tool Connector Editing

Move horizontal segments, move end points along object edges, add segments by dragging corner nodes, or delete segments by dragging a corner node over its neighbor.

Eraser Tool (X)

Deletes (erases) parts of selected objects.

Virtual Segment Delete

Creates new closed objects from overlapping areas.

Fillet/Scallop/Chamfer

6. Shaping Operations (Boolean & Path Commands)

Command

What It Does

Weld

Combines multiple objects into a single unified object; overlapping areas merge.

Trim

Uses the front object to cut away the portion of the back object that overlaps it.

Intersect

Creates a new object from only the overlapping area of two or more objects.

Simplify

Trims overlapping areas and merges the rest into clean, non-overlapping shapes.

Front Minus Back

Subtracts the back object(s) from the front object.

Back Minus Front

Subtracts the front object(s) from the back object.

Create Boundary

Creates a single outline around the outer perimeter of selected objects.



7. Symmetry Drawing

Found under Object > Symmetry > Create New Symmetry or via the Symmetry Docker.

Create Symmetry

Mirrors drawing strokes in real-time across a symmetry line or multiple symmetry lines.

Edit Symmetry

Modify the symmetry axis and adjust how objects are mirrored.

Fuse Curves in Symmetry Groups

Merge mirrored curve segments into unified paths.

Remove Symmetry / Break Symmetry Links

Detach mirrored copies so they become independent editable objects.



8. Perspective Drawing

Found under Object > Perspective > Add Perspective or in the Perspective Docker.

What It Does

Add Perspective

Applies a perspective grid to an object or group, allowing you to draw or place objects in 1-point, 2-point, or 3-point perspective.

Edit Perspective Group

Adjust the vanishing points and perspective plane after it has been applied.

Break Perspective Group Apart

Removes the perspective effect and converts objects back to standard 2D.



9. PowerClip

Found under Object > PowerClip or via the right-click context menu.


Feature

What It Does

Place Inside Container

Clips a selected object (or group of objects) inside the boundaries of another object, masking everything outside the container shape.

Edit Contents

Enters the PowerClip container to edit the clipped objects inside.

Extract Contents

Removes the clipped content from the container and restores it as a separate object.

Lock Contents to Container

Keeps the contents fixed relative to the container when the container is moved.

14. Node Types (Shape Tool)

When editing with the Shape Tool, nodes can be set to:

  • Smooth Node — Smooth transition between segments with adjustable tangency.
  • Symmetrical Node — Smooth transition with equal tangency on both sides.
  • Cusp Node — Sharp corner with independent tangency on each side.
